Assignment -Equality and Diversity

Our assignment was to choose one of the subjects below and represent it in a photo shoot.

• Race
• Gender
• Sexuality
• Age
• Disability

For my assignment I decided to look in to gender with more depth. 

 Ideas

• My first idea is to have a man dressed in female clothing such as a casual dress and heels. And for the woman to be in male clothing such as a suit.

• Another idea was to have a man holding make-up tools and cooking utensils, this is to highlight that they are stereotypically associated with woman. For the woman i want to have her holding mechanic and d.i.y tools again this is to show stereotypes.

• My final idea is to have a man and a woman in the same clothes, and doing the same job but the man earning more money, again this is stereotypical.

Equality & Diversity

What is equality & diversity?

Equality is about 'creating a fairer society', where everyone can participate and has the opportunity to fulfill their potential, By eliminating prejudice and discrimination.

Diversity means difference. When it is used as a contrast or addition to equality, it is about recognizing individuals as well as group differences, treating people as individuals, and placing positive value on diversity in the community and in the workforce.

This image works well as it shows unfairness in the work place and also shows different types of people and how they're effected, so the image shows good diversity.



I like how the image shows a different range of ages and ethnic origins. Also how different people are effected and how they think they have to hide certain things in the work place or hiding things to get a job.
